Parents are keen to help their children discover themselves, find meaningful activities to pursue with passion, live stress free and do well in school and life in general. Yet, the emphasis has been on doing well at school in the promise of a great career. However, sleep deprived children, unhealthy ones, or children who succumb to peer-pressure and emotional stress may achieve great school grades but may not be happy.
Research shows that the ultimate goal of parents is to make their children happy. In this context, life skills are beginning to matter more now. UPsQool intends to be an ecosystem for the comprehensive nurture and development of these life skills in children.
Some of the life skills include problem solving, creative expressions, body language, interpersonal skills, intellectual curiosity and social intelligence. Our research shows that children who learn these fundamental life skills have a higher chance of success in their future professional careers and personal lives. UPsQool has organized these life skills into the 5 essential quotients (5Qs) of development:
The 5Qs as defined by UPsQool include the following examples and activities.
a) Intelligence Quotient (IQ): Problem solving, logic and critical thinking, visual processing
b) Emotional Quotient (EQ): Teamwork, social interactions,
c) Creative Quotient (CQ): Visual and performing arts, creative writing, pattern recognition
d) Physical Quotient (PQ): Health, fitness, sports, sleep, diet and nutrition
e) Values Quotient (VQ): Family, tradition, culture
As the name suggests, UPsQool wants to help parents to UP the five Quotients or the 5Qs of children to enable the development of life skills.
The current release of the UPsQool APP, the starting point of a broader ecosystem, is a tool to holistically nurture and develop the child.
The UPsQool APP will help parents
